Dr. Jennifer C. Richardsonis a Professor in Learning, Design and Technology (LDT) in the College of Education at Purdue University. Her research focuses on evidence-based practices in online learning environments. Specifically, strategies for teaching online, social presence, gauging learning in online environments. and the Community of Inquiry (CoI) framework. She has been teaching and conducting research in distance education for the past 20 years and is a Fellow of the Online Learning Consortium. Jennifer has received awards related to leadership and research in her field, including the Online Learning Journal Outstanding Research Award in Online Education (2017, Online Learning Consortium), the AERA SIG Instructional Technology Leadership Award, and the Sloan-C Effective Practices in Online Education Award. Jennifer publishes regularly in leading journals (Internet and Higher Education, JALN, ETR&D, IRRODL) and presents at the major conferences in her area. Dr. Richardson is a faculty member of the first online MS at Purdue (LDT) and is currently serving as convener for a new online MS in Curriculum and Instruction as it is developed and launched.
